Old workers' homes in Bruges

Bruges has been settled continuously by humans since the days before recorded history. Reaching cultural zeniths in the medieval period and the Renaissance, Bruges has held onto one constant: its workers and merchants. Merchants brought in foreign trade and textiles, while day-laborers manufactured finished textiles for retail and export.
