No Electricity - and going away
All summer it didn't pay to
keep it I miss it though!
I do not dare to drive a
gas car. on country roads.
so we hire a care now & then
and our friends take us out.
Have you much fruit this year
I am really wild when I think
I am not home to take advantage
of the cheap fruit. but I have
bad to go back & fonts trice
And if costs. almost twice
what it used to to come here
so I decided to take the money
it would cost & buy dried fruit
but I miss it. I have to can and
pickle & preserve & make jelly
& all the rest of it

My Dear Fanny:-I was glad to hear
from you and if I was in Buffalo
I should be tempted in spite
of the R.R. strike to go see
you. I do long to so after
sister and I reluctantly
[g?m] of our Western trip as we
were afraid of conditions
We may go later this fall if
things are settled
At present I am worrying
about coal for winter.
I am crocheting a rag rug in
odd moments awfully pretty in
shades of brown & blue. Has the craze
reached you or has it passed
We haven't much to do but read and
sew. when here. we go for frequent
swims with a neighbor. Dr Earl with
his wife and two children. Downer
and Esther were here for a week. Dr
drown some. he has a Buick this year
previously he had a Reo.- I sold my
Electric Car. I couldn't use it have
I need ten tons and havn’t
a bit. Will you burn wood
the farmers about here are
planning to burn wood [w??]
in their furnace.
It seems like a dream to me
to think of you with grand
children and I expect
little Frances is spoiled by
her grandmother.
I notice that your postmark
is Bolivar. but I shall
strike to Richburg until you
tell me to stop
I do a little canning here. made
jelly yesterday. Apple and
Elderberry. ⅔ apple ⅓ E.B. and
you can try it. it is good
I shall can peaches too. they
keep over nicely-
You will have no time to
can or pickle unless I stop
writing. Love to you ace
