Title
The Joyces at Rocofoin--Nora Joyce, James Joyce and M. Monnier
Description
Nora Joyce, James Joyce, and M. Monnier are seated on a slatted wooden bench in front of a brick-framed doorway. Nora Joyce, on the left, wears a cloche hat and a dress with a pleated skirt. In the middle, James Joyce wears a cap, round glasses, a tie, and a dark jacket. The person on the right is M. Monnier, who has a beard, wears a flat cap and a three-piece suit, and holds a cane resting between their knees. The ground appears uneven, with stones and patches of grass. On verso in SB's handwriting "Nora and James Joyce with | Adrienne's father M. Clovis Monnier | at his hous Rocfoin near | Maintenon (Eure-et-Loir)"
