James Stephens, James Joyce, and John Sullivan [O'Sullivan] walk on a wet sidewalk beside a city street, dressed in long overcoats and brimmed hats. James Joyce, in center of image, holds a walking cane. John Sullivan [O'Sullivan], to Joyce's left, also holds a walking cane. All individuals appear engaged in conversation. Behind them, two more individuals are walking along the building-lined street. Leafless trees line the road, and the street surface appears wet, suggesting a cold or rainy season.
