About the Collection

Law professor Rebecca R. French wrote the seminal book, The Golden Yoke: The Legal Cosmology of Buddhist Tibet (Cornell University Press, 1995). While in Tibet researching Buddhist law, she collected several manuscripts which illustrate a variety of documentary functions and Tibetan scripts. In 2004 she donated these manuscripts to the Law Library. This is the digital representation of that collection.
