About the Collection

As the foreword of this book states, “Buffalo is essentially a city of beautiful homes.” This book, published in 1915, contains over 100 photographs of architecturally significant homes and buildings in the city of Buffalo and the surrounding suburbs. Addresses and names of the original homeowners are included. When available, the photographs have been incorporated into Historypin, a digital mapping website that allows you to view the photographs which have been incorporated into Google Streetview.

The photographs in this book aim “to present in attractive form an exposition of the triumphs of American architecture in the Queen City of the Lakes.”
