Architectural Drawings of Graycliff, the summer retreat of Isabelle and Darwin Martin
About the Collection
This collection provides access to over forty drawings and architectural plans of Graycliff, the summer estate of Darwin D. Martin and Isabelle Reidpath Martin. Built between 1926 and 1931 and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the plans also include drawings of the gardens and landscape as designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman. The majority of the collection dates between 1926 and 1930, however there are a series of architectural plans and elevations by Bero Associates Architects, Rochester, N.Y., as commissioned by the Graycliff Conservancy in 1999.
