About the Collection

The images in this collection come from 35 mm. Kodachrome slides digital photographs taken by Claude Welch, SUNY Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science. He started his teaching career in 1964, directly after completing his doctoral work at Oxford. The images reflect a wide span of his interests and continents, with particular strength in sub-Saharan Africa, Western Europe, India and China.
