Several single-story abandoned houses with boarded-up windows are visible behind a long chain-link fence that runs alongside a wet sidewalk in the Love Canal neighborhood, Niagara Falls, New York. The scene is overcast, and the ground appears damp from recent rain. A few trees with sparse branches line the fence, and utility poles with power lines follow the street into the distance.
