Description
A large crane with a lattice boom is positioned within a fenced-off remediation site in front of the 99th Street Elementary School, a low, modern-style brick building in the Love canal neighborhood, Niagara Falls, New York . A “DANGER KEEP OUT” sign is attached to the fence near the foreground, along with a caution barricade. Tall grass grows along the outside of the fence, and rows of abandoned, boarded-up houses are visible in the background under a clear blue sky. Photographed by Penelope D. Ploughman.
