Description
Love Canal activist Lois Gibbs, wearing a long coat, gestures with a raised hand while speaking at the rally to oppose the resettlement of the Love Canal area. She is seen next to Ed Begley, Jr, who is wearing a leather jacket, standing on the front porch of an abandoned Love Canal white house with a red door with a black wreath with a white ribbon hanging above the address number “9712.” A third person in the foreground appears to be taking a photograph. The boarded-up window and deteriorated awning indicate the house is abandoned. The rally was organized by the Citizen's Clearinghouse for Hazardous Waste, an organization founded by Lois Gibbs in 1981.
