Veneered splints patented in 1894 and manufactured by Stoddart Brothers, Buffalo, NY. The splints were made for a child's right tibia and fibula, and for a child's left ankle. Description on the inside of each splint states, "These Splints are stronger, lighter and better than any other

and though so light that they are no burden to the patient are so strong that they meet every requirement as to strength. By heating they can be bent to fit any part, and they retain shape when cool."
