Description
Gandhi's ashes were scattered in the Ganges River, according to Hindu custom. This memorial to him is by the banks of one of the Ganges' tributaries. The nun in the background probably belongs to the 'Dalit' [formerly 'Untouchable'] group. About one person in 40 in India is Christian.
