Title
Interior of a Dar, Morocco
Description
The Dar, or house, is the central element of a Moroccan old city. These old homes have high walls, sunken-in pools, and beautiful gardens. Interior spaces are tiled with zellige-style terra-cotta and decorated with ornate furnishings and fabrics. The Dar represents the pure blend of Islamic art and architecture with Moorish Andalusian influence.
