Water trough, Kiyomizu-dera
Description
Pilgrims to this historic temple wash before entering, using this ancient trough. This temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, was constructed in 1633. Notably, it was built without a single nail! The main hall of the temple complex stands above a waterfall.
