Tape of an interview with Schneider conducted by Brenda K. Shelton, March 8, 1979, concerns Budapest String Quartet; years at UB; US failure to support the arts, and lack of good music students at UB.

Interviewer's Observations: Although Mr. Schneider suffered nerve damage in his spine as a result of an operation and uses a cane, he is still very active, and continues to travel throughout the country teaching. He has a very expressive face, and gestures often with his hands. He has a delightful sense of humor, almost puckish, and we had a most enjoyable conversation before and after the interview.
