Among the subjects Duncan discussed during the seventeenth and eighteenth sessions were Dante, B??hme, Goethe, Freud, "Love's Alchemy" (Donne), Jung, Robert Kelly, Berkeley, Piaget, Olson, Pound, Williams, De Loach, Snyder, Stein, Blake, Marquis de Sade, Shakespeare, Beckett, Burroughs, Sholem, Nietzsche, Plato, Whitehead, T.S. Eliot, Pindar, Brakhage, Bergman, Whitman, Socrates, Vietnam protests, Christ, Satan, "The Venice poem" (Duncan), Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Mondrian, Keats, Cage, Stravinsky, "The soldiers" (Duncan), the Zohar, and "To his coy mistress" and "The garden" by Marvell. The one book added to the reading list during the seventeenth and eighteenth sessions was Empty mirror by Allen Ginsberg.
