Description
Piece consists of a brown mailing envelope decorated on the back with colored marker, paint, rubber ink stamp and affixed with German postage. The face contains addressee information and rubber stamps.
A painted mail art envelope features a stylized nude human figure outlined in black, shown reclining diagonally across the surface. The figure is filled with orange, white, and red patches, surrounded by blue and purple brushstrokes on a tan background. Repeated purple stamped text across the body reads “Drucksache imprimé printed matter.” On the lower left, hand-lettered text reads: “Luce Fierens / Youth & Mail-Art / c/o Boterstraat 43 / B-2811 Hombeek / BELGIUM.” A red circular stamp near the right side reads “MAIL ART.” In the upper right corner are three postage stamps, including two blue German stamps labeled “Deutsche Bundespost Historische Luftpostbeförderung” with airplane imagery, and one smaller stamp showing a stylized face with “20.” A green border frames the envelope.
