Bom Jesu altar

This basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Jesuits. St. Francis, Basque by origin, devoted most of his life to missionary work in India. He also traveled to other Asian area, including Japan, Borneo and China.
