Hand-written invitation from the Pan American Reception Committee of the Twentieth Century Club of Buffalo, chaired by Mrs. Lucien Howe, to His Excellency Wu Ting Fang, Minister from China. The primary duty of this committee was to extend the courtesies of the Club to prominent individuals who visited Buffalo during the Pan American Exposition of 1901.

On December 6, 1900, the following Special Committee was appointed to be known as the Pan American Reception Committee, Mrs. Lucian Howe, Chairman.

The chief duty of this committee was to extend the courtesies of the Club to individuals of prominence and of national reputation who might visit Buffalo during the Exposition.
March 11, 1901. A reception was given in honor of His Excellency, Wu Ting Fang, Minister from China, after his address on Saturday afternoon.
The President and Directors of the Iroquois Century Club invite you to meet His Excellency Wu Ting Fang on Saturday March Eleventh at four o'clock at the Hotel. Each member was invited to bring one guest.
