Woman of the Year for 1948 Dr. Lillian M. Gilbreth (pictured at right), heroine of the best seller 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and head of her late husband's efficiency expert business, was introduced to the Twentieth Century Club of Buffalo by Mrs. Niles Carpenter (pictured at left). Dr. Gilbreth, the holder of nine academic degrees, spoke on harmonious family values and the raising and efficient management of her 12 children.
