Description
The large structure in the background was built in the mid-17th century during the reign of Fasilides, emperor of Ethiopia from 1632 to 1667. Gondar was once the capital of the Ethiopian empire. In 2007, the entire city of Gondar had a population of 207,000, the overwhelming majority Christian.
