American Dental Association's invitation to the 50th anniversary celebration of American dental surgeon Horace Wells' discovery of anesthesia for use in dentistry in 1844.

An invitation card displays a printed portrait of a person inside a circular frame at the top. Below the portrait, stylized cursive text announces that the American Dental Association requests attendance at the Memorial Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the discovery of anesthesia by Horace Wells, held on Tuesday, December 11th, 1894. Additional details at the bottom specify the schedule for memorial papers at Association Hall at 2 P.M. and a banquet at the Union League at 6:30 P.M.
