Title
James Joyce, James Stephens and John Sullivan walking in Rue Raspail, Pairs
Description
Embossed on recto "New York Times | 106, Rue Reaumur, Paris"
in handwriting on verso "James Joyce avec James Stephens et John Sullivan | Boulevard Raspail à Paris"
James Stephens, James Joyce, and John Sullivan walk on a wet sidewalk beside a city street, dressed in long overcoats and brimmed hats. James Joyce, in center of image, holds a walking cane. John Sullivan, to Joyce's left, also holds a walking cane. All individuals appear engaged in conversation. Behind them, two more individuals are walking along the building-lined street. Leafless trees line the road, and the street surface appears wet, suggesting a cold or rainy season.
