Description
This poster uses Love Canal to promote environmental awareness. Lois Gibbs is pictured with her daughter Missy.
An advocacy poster featuring a close-up image of an adult holding a child, both with serious expressions. The text emphasizes the lasting impact of the Love Canal environmental disaster. White bold letters against red and brown blocks read:
- “20 Years ago Love Canal families thought they were safe after evacuating their contaminated neighborhoods…”
- “…only to discover they couldn’t protect their families from chemical exposures anywhere. Love Canal could be evacuated but… We can’t Evacuate the World!”
- The bottom line reads: “We must stand our ground to take back our communities, our health and our environment.”
Produced by the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, the poster calls for collective action against widespread environmental contamination.
