Used to obtain whiskey for medicinal purposes during Prohibition
Paper, filled-out prescription for whiskey in a wooden and glass frame.
A framed document displays a “Prescription Blank National Prohibition Act” form with decorative floral borders and a patterned background. The top reads “Issued by U.S. Internal Revenue” above the title. Printed details include “Book No. D192251,” “Blank No. 18,” and a handwritten “Permit No. 91751.” The form contains handwritten entries, including a date in 192_, names, and signatures. Printed sections read “For Use of Druggist or Pharmacist Only,” “This Prescription Must Not Be Refilled,” “See Regulations for Penalties Imposed,” “Form No. 1403,” and “Revised Feb. 1922.” A label beneath the document within the frame reads, “A Prescription for Whiskey During Prohibition.”
