Title
Flag of India painted on door
Description
Like many other countries, the flag of India displays a symbol and colors significant to it. The saffron refers to cremation, the preferred means of disposing of human corpses among Hindus (more than 80% of the country's population). The 24-point chakra in the center is a symbol of the renown emperor Asoka, who unified much of the country in the 3rd century BCE and set out boundary markers with this symbol on them.
