Title
East entrance, Cologne cathedral
Description
This main entry into the cathedral is marked by high-quality sculpture, typical of the high Gothic style of church construction. This cathedral is Germany's most visited church. Its construction started in the mid-13th century, continued for over 200 years, and then - owing to warfare and other factors - was not completed in 1880. Miraculously, it escaped significant damage in World War II.
