Title
Heidelberg castle and barge on Rhine
Description
The picturesque ruin of the Heidelberg castle dominates part of the Rhine valley. Its construction started before 1214, but fires caused by lightning and wars resulted in what you see here. More barge traffic goes along the Rhine than any other European river.
