Title
Baptistery pulpit, Pisa
Description
This baptistery pulpit is widely regarded as a (perhaps the) master work by Nicola Pisano. Pisano, who lived between ~1220 and 1285, demonstrates many classical Roman characteristics in his sculpture. Many see him as the earliest Renaissance sculptor. The pulpit shows the Annunciation to the Shepherds and the Adoration of the Magi.
