Description
One of the oldest Christian churches still standing in the world, this basilica stands in Moselle Valley town of Trier. In the Roman era, it was known as Augusta Treverorum. Emperor Constantine I, known as The Great, added the basilica to the palace around 326 of the Common Era. Trier served as capital of the Prefecture of Gaul.
