            Description
The Netherlands became the world's wealthiest country in the 17th century through its trade. The Mauruithuis houses many of the country's most noted works of art. For example, artists such as Rembrandt, Hals or Vermeer. Works collected by the royal family were donated to to the Mauruitshuis by King William I. The structure itself, located in the Netherlands' royal capital, was constructed between 1636 and 1641 in symmetrical style.
