            Description
This window depicts Holland's most famous painter, Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669). He became famous and relatively affluent during his lifetime through his portraits of the rich and famous, numerous self-portraits, paintings of groups, and etchings.     The Rijsmuseum ("State Museum") was designed by the same architect who planned thhe Amsterdam railway station
                     similarities in style are obvious. The Rijsmuseum opened to the public in 1885.
