Description
Photographs, Black and White ; 24 x 18 cm.
This aerial photograph captures a sparsely developed suburban or semi-rural area in the process of expansion. Streets are laid out in a grid pattern, with scattered houses and open lots visible across the scene. Toward the right side of the image, an extensive rail yard occupies a large section, with multiple parallel tracks, switching areas, and a roundhouse with a turntable for locomotives. The surrounding land is a mix of residential lots and undeveloped fields. The photo number “8226-89” is handwritten in the upper right corner, and “Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C.” is printed along the bottom edge.
