Western New York Aerial Photograph Collection
Description
Photographs, Black and White ; 24 x 18 cm.
The aerial photograph depicts a transition between urban neighborhoods and industrial rail facilities. On the right side, a dense grid of residential streets with rows of houses fills the area, including some larger institutional buildings and open spaces. The left and lower portions are dominated by a large rail yard with multiple parallel tracks, a roundhouse with radiating tracks, and adjacent industrial areas. Cloud cover partially obscures sections of the image. At the lower right, rail lines converge near a triangular open area and a pond or water feature. The bottom right corner bears the label "Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc N.Y.C.," and the top right shows the code "8226-92."
