Title
West entrance Autun cathedral
Description
Featuring a façade and numerous other sculptures by the famous Gislebertus (active at Autun between ~1120 and 1135), the Autun Cathedral drew pilgrims headed to Santiago to Compostela in NW Spain for hundreds of years. Whether Gislebertus was the actual sculptor or the donor has been disputed, however. His name can be readily discerned with binoculars on the west tympanum.
