Utworzenie Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w 1968 r. było ukoronowaniem wieloletnich aspiracji mieszkańców tego regionu do posiadania własnej wyższej uczelni humanistycznej. Posiada on cztery wydziały a studiuje na nim prawie 6 tysięcy młodzieży, w większości mieszkańców Śląska. Na zdj.: uroczysty moment inauguracji pierwszego roku szkolnego.

The establishment of the University of Silesia in 1968 was the culmination of perennial aspiration of the people of this region to have its own university humanities. It has four departments and studying at the nearly 6,000 young people, most of the inhabitants of Silesia. In the photo.: Solemn moment of the inauguration of the first school year.
