Oskar Kolberg (1814-1890) wybitny znawca folkloru, etnograf, muzyk i kompozytor. Całe prawie źycie poświęcił na zbieraniu i zapisywaniu starych pieśni, zwyczajów i obyczajów ludowych, które wydał w monumentalnym dziele p. t. "Lud, jego zwyczaje, sposób źycia, mowa, podania, przysłowia, obrzędy, gusła, zabawy i pieśni". Na zdj.: dzieła O. Kolberga wydane po wojnie staraniem Ludowej Spółdzielni Wydawniczej.

Oskar Kolberg (1814-1890) an eminent scholar of folklore, ethnographer, musician and composer. Almost the entire life devoted to collecting and recording old songs, customs and folk customs, which gave a monumental work entitled "People, habits, way of living of speech, administration, proverbs, rituals, witchcraft, games and songs."
