Polska Kronika Filmowa i polski film krótkometrażowy, zdobyły już zasłużone miejsce w świecie filmu. W 1964 r. wyprodukowano 517 filmów krótkometrażowych, ukazało się 105 wydań Polskiej Kroniki Filmowej. 21 filmów zdobyło nagrody na Międzynarodowych Festiwalach Film "Araby" w reż. Zbigniewa Raplewskiegozdobył "Złote Wrota" w Brukseli, wyróżnienia w Buenos Aires i San Francisko.
