Maria Konopnicka (1842-1910) poetka, nowelistka i tłumaczka. Wyrazicielka ideałów demokratycznych i patriotycznych w literaturze polskiej. Pisała wiele dla dzieci. Z pod jej pióra wyszedł także poemat z dziejów emigracji chłopskiej pt "Pan Balcer w Brazylii".

Maria Konopnicka (1842-1910) poet, novelist and translator. Wyrazicielka democratic ideals and patriotic in Polish literature. She wrote many children's books. From under her pen came a poem in the history of peasant emigration titled "Mr. Balcer in Brazil."
