This black-and-white aerial photograph captures a highly developed residential neighborhood organized in a strict grid pattern. Rows of houses dominate the lower and central parts of the image, with some diagonal streets cutting through the grid. At the top of the image, a rail line and industrial facilities sit next to a large mound or excavation site. On the right, open fields, an athletic ground with a rectangular playing field, and scattered industrial buildings break up the dense housing. Roads extend into less developed land at the bottom and right edges. The bottom right corner reads “Fairchild Aerial Surveys Inc. N.Y.C.,” and the number “8226-220” is written at the top right.
