Subject
Okinawa-ken (Japan)--Photographs
Description
Black and white
Information supplied by Mr. Donn Cuson: "Navy Supply Depot, most likely the installation at Tengan. Major damage on Okinawa, 80% of military installations damage or destroyed. Over 200 ships and aircraft damaged or destroyed. 36 killed and 47 missing."
Wide, dusty outdoor yard with several trucks parked along a dirt road on the left. Piles of lumber, pallets, and wooden frames lie scattered across the ground in the foreground. In the background are curved-roof structures and other industrial buildings, suggesting a construction or salvage site. The scene is faded and shows some patchy discoloration.
