Eugenia Fronczak Bukowski grew up in Buffalo and was educated in various Buffalo schools. In 1928, having already received a master's degree from Canisius College, she graduated from the University of Buffalo Medical School. In the first part of this interview, Dr. Bukowski talks at length about her father, himself a doctor and a graduate of the UB medical school. She goes on to discuss her early exposure to medicine and subsequent medical education at UB, focusing on the special problems experienced by women entering the profession. Dr. Bukowski also discusses her later medical career, and her involvement with the Polish community in Buffalo.
