Subject

Description
Two-sided cardboard homemade postcard mail art piece created by Haddock. The front is decorated with a mixed-media collage of cut-out letters filled with smiling teeth, layered textures, and stickers, including a yellow “Organic #94067 Zucchini” label. The verso is a colorful mail art envelope covered with collage elements, drawings, stamps, and handwritten text. The envelope includes a large hand-lettered recipient name “BARON” with a Cleveland, Ohio address, a yellow background with black shapes, small pasted images including a cartoon radio broadcast scene, a smiling childlike figure drawing, a spider web with a spider, and a buffalo postage stamp. Handwritten messages, labels, and rubber-stamped text appear throughout, including a change-of-address notice for mail art recipient Haddock and playful commentary referencing newspapers and radio. The envelope is worn, taped, and layered with cut paper, sticker labels and ink and decorated with clippings and U.S. postage stamps affixed.
