Poet and professor, Robert Creeley, reads his poetry with extended explanatory notes. Creeley reads from 1968's Pieces and 1970's In London. Creeley discusses his participation with Robert Bly at the 1969 London International Poetry Festival and his appreciation of Allen Ginsberg's writing technique. Creeley discusses the act of writing poetry in terms of space and travel and speaks to the poetic and artistic influences of D.H. Lawrence, Charles Olson, Ken Kesey, Arthur Okamura, Anthony Hecht, Robert Indiana, and John Muir. Poet finishes the reading with a ten minute question and answer session with student audience members, as well as taking poem requests.
