Opening event for the 1979 SUNY at Buffalo Poetry Festival. Following a two minute introduction by Max Wickert, poet and translator John Frederick Nims lectures on the topic of idioms and untranslatable poetry. He discusses the works of Hart Crane, T.S. Eliot and John Keats. Nims is serving as the Edward H. Butler chair.
