Recorded at the Allentown Community Center on October 6, 1978 on a 120 minute Ampex sound cassette by Allen De Loach for the Poetry Collection.
Poet and University at Buffalo professor Leslie Fiedler and poet Allen Ginsberg perform their poetry for the Gray Chair reading organized by Robert Creeley. Fiedler shares humorous memories of his friendship with Allen and Louis Ginsberg. Fiedler reads for 15 minutes. Irving Layton recalls how when he first met Ginsberg, he thought Ginsberg had stomach issues, but instead he was chanting a mantra. He recalls his first meeting and admiration for Fiedler. Layton reads for about 25 minutes. Allen Ginsberg recalls his associations with Fiedler and Layton. He speaks and reads poems about the death of his father. Ginsberg performs his songs with musical accompaniment.
