Recorded live on April 18, 1986 at the Kiva, Baldy Hall, University at Buffalo and aired on Spoken Arts on July 6, 1988. Recorded by Paul Hogan, who donated a copy of the recording made on a 60 minute TDK sound cassette.

Novelist William Gaddis lectures about writing and reads from The recognitions and JR. The reading was part of the April Festival of Readings, 1986 at the University at Buffalo.
