Title
[Poetry reading] / Edward Dorn.
Description
Recorded by Allen De Loach on a 7 inch Scotch reel-to-reel. The date and the location of this reading by Edward Dorn are not specified, but it is thought to be in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1964. The title on the original container of the recording is "Private reading of new poems to be published as 'Hands up.'" Poetry Collection acquired recording from De Loach.
Dorn reads poems that are mostly from the book Hands up which was published in 1964 by Totem Press. One poem Dorn reads from this group is an early version of The sea corner, of the eye. The other poems are from The newly fallen (1961) and Geography (1965).
