Description
Recorded at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio In July 1973 on a 7 inch Scotch reel-to-reel tape. Recorded by Robert J. Bertholf, while serving as Professor of English and organizer of the Creative Arts Festival at Kent State University. Recording was donated to the Poetry Collection at the University at Buffalo, where Bertholf subsequently served as Curator.
Reading by Fielding Dawson held at Kent State University in July 1973. Dawson mostly read early versions of vignettes from Tiger lilies (1984), stories from The man who changed overnight (1976), and several uncollected pieces, including three vignettes ("Three great dogs," "In memory," and "The '57 series) as they appeared in the sixth issue of the Bill Berkson's literary magazine Big sky (1973). In track nine of disc two, the audio cuts to a reading by Allen Ginsberg, in which Ginsberg mostly read poems from The fall of America (1972) and Gary Snyder read one poem, "The bath," from Turtle Island (1974).
